Orient Express La Minerva

Set in a 17th-century palace on the quiet Piazza della Minerva, a few steps behind the Pantheon, Orient Express La Minerva is the first hotel of the Orient Express brand. Reimagined by artist-architect Hugo Toro, its interiors marry Art Deco codes with Roman architecture — raw matt finishes, marble, columns and sculpture — across 93 rooms and suites. The events floor is led by the Olimpo Ballroom, a spectacular 165sqm ground-floor room hung with Murano chandeliers and lined with eleven marble statues by Rinaldo Rinaldi, a pupil of Canova. It has its own private entrance from Via Santa Caterina da Siena and an adjoining foyer with cloakroom, making it ideal for confidential board dinners, receptions and celebrations. Audiovisual is built in: audio system, mixer, touch-screen controller, headset and handheld microphones and rear projection with screen. Four further private spaces sit on the ground floor. The Rinaldi Room (54sqm) echoes the interiors of vintage Orient Express carriages and works for meetings and exclusive dinners. The Alfieri Room (28sqm), under historic vaulted ceilings, and the Bernini Room (26sqm) suit intimate board meetings and private dining. The Gallery (75sqm), with a coffered ceiling inspired by the Pantheon's vault, opens onto La Minerva Bar and can be partially privatised for coffee breaks and welcome cocktails. Seven storeys up, Gigi Rigolatto Roma is the Mediterranean rooftop restaurant and bar; a dedicated area can be privatised for cocktails and dinners with panoramic views over the Pantheon and Rome's skyline. The hotel also holds The SPA, an Ottoman hammam-inspired wellness floor, and a gym. Seating capacities are not published by the hotel; we can confirm exact numbers per layout on request.
