Our commitment
Venuemap (Venuemap Ltd) respects the intellectual-property rights of photographers, agencies and venues. The images, descriptions and other material displayed on this site are either supplied by the venues themselves, sourced from publicly available materials believed to be free of restriction, licensed from third parties, or created by us.
If you believe any content on this site infringes your copyright, please contact us using the process below and we will review and act promptly — usually within 2 business days.
How to submit a takedown notice
Send an email to sacha@venuemap.co.uk with the subject line "Copyright takedown request" and include all of the following:
- Your details — full name, organisation (if any), email and contact phone number.
- Identification of the work — a link or copy of the original work you own (e.g. portfolio URL, registration, or original file).
- Location on our site — the full URL(s) of the Venuemap page(s) where the material appears, plus a description of which image or text is affected (e.g. "3rd image in the gallery").
- A statement of good faith — confirmation that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement of accuracy — confirmation that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Signature — a physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is sufficient).
What happens next
- We acknowledge receipt of your notice within 2 business days.
- While we investigate, we will, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material in question.
- We will inform the relevant venue or contributor that the material has been removed and on what basis.
- If we conclude that the notice is invalid or that we have a valid licence, we will explain our reasoning.
Counter-notice
If you are a venue or contributor whose material has been removed following a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you have permission to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address. Please include your full details, identification of the removed material, and a statement (under penalty of perjury) that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error.
Repeat infringers
We may, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, remove listings or terminate accounts of users or venues that are repeat infringers.
Jurisdiction
Venuemap is operated from the United Kingdom. This policy is provided in line with the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and is modelled on the notice-and-takedown principles of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), so that international rights-holders can use a familiar process.
